GENICULATE NUCLEUS

Cluster of nerve cell bodies that are on the thalamus. There are 2 pairs, lateral and medial, one on each lobe. They relay visual and auditory impulses to the cerebral cortex.

GENICULATE NUCLEUS: "The geniculate nucleus is on the surface of the thalamus."
