GLOSSOPHARYNGEAL NERVE

the name for the 9th cranial nerve supplying the pharynx, soft palate and posterior 1/3 of the tongue and its taste buds. Responsible for our swallowing reflex.

GLOSSOPHARYNGEAL NERVE: "The glossopharyngeal nerve controls the reflex control of the heart through innervation with the carotid sinus."
