The ability to influence fellow members of a group which is usually dependent on your status within the group and their recognised right to require and demand compliance of others.

LEGITIMATE POWER: "Legitimate power is subjective, one person may believe a Queen has legitimate power whereas some would argue that she has no right and no legitimate power at all."
