MEFLOQUINE

is a chemical analogue of quinine which is currently used to treat any malarial infections and also used in the active prevention of the spread of malaria. There have been reports which suggest the drug can induce psychotic seizures and so its long term use is becoming considered.

MEFLOQUINE: "Mefloquine, otherwise known as lariam, is used in the United States as a treatment against the bacterial infects of malaria and preventative measures involving malaria."
