MYOPATHY

is an umbrella term used to describe any condition or disorder which involves defective functioning of the muscle fibres. For example, cardio myopathy is the dysfunction of cardiac muscle tissue which can lead to heart problems such as myocardial infarctions.

MYOPATHY: "Any condition which is dehabilitating in terms of muscle mass falls under the umbrella term myopathy."
