NEUROTICISM

is an umbrella term used to describe a range of meanings. For example, neuroticism could detail a state of neurosis whilst neuroticism is also one of the five personality models, which is characterized by a chronic level of emotional instability.

NEUROTICISM: "Periods of neurosis for example can be classed as neuroticism in its umbrella term role."
