NUCLEAR SCHIZOPHRENIA

By N., Sam M.S.

postulated by Norwegian psychiatrist Gabriel Langfeldt, a form of schizophrenia whose characterizing aspects, that consist of cultural inadequacy and withdrawal, blunted affect, and emotions of depersonalization and derealization, are very similar to those depicted by German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin (1856- 1926) for dementia praecox. It is of formative, insidious onset and is correlated with a degenerative, irreversible path and poor prognosis. This word is frequently utilized interchangeably with process schizophrenia. Commonly referred to as authentic schizophrenia, authentic schizophrenia- common schizophrenia.
