NUMBER

noun. with regard to language, a grammatical categorization of nouns, pronouns, and any words in agreement with such depending upon whether or not they're singular or plural. With regard to the English language, it is most frequently seen expressed by the plural noun ending in -s and in the inflection of the verb to align with the of the topic or object being spoken of.
