OSTEOPETROSIS

noun. an uncommon inherited disorder marked by escalated bone density, that might lead to irregularities in bone shape or size, because of irregular reabsorption of bone. Even though the bones are very dense, they're fragile and can easily fracture.

OSTEOPETROSIS: "It was suspected for some time that the young boy might be being abused, but ultimately, osteopetrosis was the cause of his fractures."
