generalized and continual fear or worry which takes place in childhood. In the DSM-IV-TR, is now categorized as generalized anxiety disorder. Commonly referred to as overanxious response.

OVERANXIOUS DISORDER OF CHILDHOOD: "Overanxious disorder of childhood often appears in children who have been exposed for some time to an environment full of neglect, violence, or lacking emotional security."
