PARTHENOGENESIS

noun. literally, virgin birth: the generating of offspring without fertilization of the egg by sperm. It is the commonplace way of reproducing in some species.

PARTHENOGENESIS: "Parthenogenesis does occur, contrary to popular belief, and is not a form of divine miracle or immaculate conception."
