PENIS ENVY

with regard to the classic psychoanalytic theory of Sigmund Freud, the hypothesized favoring of girls and women to have a male genital organ. Freud postulated that it originated in the phallic stage, between 3 and 6 years of age, whenever the girl finds that she doesn't have this organ, and further initiated that the girl feels disabled and ill-treated, blames her own mother for the loss, and wants to have her penis back.
