POSTHYPNOTIC SUGGESTION

a recommendation made to an individual under hypnosis and enacted following waking from the hypnotic trance. Generally, the action is carried out in reaction to a predetermined cue from the hypnotist, and the involved party doesn't know why they are performing the action.

POSTHYPNOTIC SUGGESTION: "The posthypnotic suggestion was not appreciated by the patient after waking from the experience."
