PRIMARY CARETAKER STANDARD

Utilized in child custody disputes, the primary caretaker standard evaluates each parent and generally awards custody to that parent that has taken on the most responsibility for the child and invested the most time with them.

PRIMARY CARETAKER STANDARD: "The judge in family court gave primary custody to the father, based on data from the Primary Custody Standard."
