RELEASING HORMONE

One of many different peptides emitted by the hypothalamus, secreted directly into the anterior pituitary gland by a vein which connects them. Different release hormones stimulate the pituitary to secrete certain tropic hormones.

RELEASING HORMONE: "Previously referred to as releasing factor, a releasing hormone prompts the pituitary to react in a specific way."
