SUPRASEGMENTAL

Linguistics. These are the phonological features of speech that extend further than the individual phonemes. It is also called prosodic. See prosody; paralanguage. extended over a series of segments.

SUPRASEGMENTAL: "In English the suprasegmental principles are tone, stress and juncture."
