WITMER, LIGHTNER

American psychologist. Witmer received his doctorate at the University of Leipzig under Wilhelm Wundt. He was a psychology instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and stayed there for the duration of his working years. Witmer is most widely recognized as the founder of clinical psychology in the U.S.
