ZYGOTE

a fertilized egg, or ovum, with a diploid set of chromosomes, half rendered by the mother and half rendered by the father. The zygote separates to come to be an embryo, that keeps separating as it grows and differentiates, gradually growing a fetus when concerning human beings.
