CONDITIONED AVOIDANCE RESPONSE (CAR)

a conditioned reaction which blocks, delays, or lessens the regularity or severity of a negative stimulant. A conditioned reaction that ceases a negative stimulant is referred to as a conditioned escape response.

CONDITIONED AVOIDANCE RESPONSE (CAR): "Collars which emit small shocks whenever dogs bark are employing conditioned avoidance responses."
