FECAL INCONTINENCE

the involuntary passage of flatulence and feces in inappropriate places (clothing, floor, etc.) that results from loss of bowel control and could be due to an injury or organic condition. Also called bowel incontinence. Compare encopresis.

FECAL INCONTINENCE: "Joe suffered from faecal incontinence when he was ill."
