MIXED EPISODE

is an episode which typically lasts at least 1 week in duration and which displays symptoms of both a manic episode and a major depressive episode. Mixed episodes have been observed in bipolar disorder.

MIXED EPISODE: "Mixed episodes typically take symptoms from both manic episodes and major depressive episodes but last an average of only a week."
