SLEEP TERROR DISORDER

a sleep disorder worse than a nightmare where we wake up disoriented, in panic or with extreme anxiety. They last up to 10 minutes and the person can be screaming and difficult to wake. In adults it is often due to a psychopathology. See parasomnia. Compare nightmare disorder.
