VEGETATIVE STATE

a condition wherein a person is not able to move or correspond with others, not aware of their self or the setting they're in, and not responsive to stimulants. The condition takes place mainly in people with severe brain damage and is marked by a non-functioning cerebral cortex.

VEGETATIVE STATE: "The patient's vegetative state has persisted as expected."
