VIRGINITY

7

the state of an individual who has not engaged in carnal intercourse. Customarily, a female was presumed to be a virgin if her hymen was still intact, but a disturbed hymen is no longer thought of as significant proof that a female is not a virgin, as other occurrences can cause this.

VIRGINITY: "Across the world, youths are losing their virginity younger than what prior generations are accustomed to, alarming many parents."
